3/3/2024 0 Comments 9mm winchester white boxAny event I usually choose white box because of it`s consistent performance and accuracy for both pistols and rifles. Further, I just handled a box of WCC 7.62x51 ball that is NATO headstamped and dated WCC 13. I'd say it's likely a duplicate load of the earlier contract stuff. It is identical to the 124gr stuff that comes in the white box, which incidentally carries the NATO stamp. Backed by generations of legendary excellence, Winchester USA White Box is high-quality ammunition that suits a wide range of needs for handgun shooters. One thought that came to mind is that they wer`nt using the proper primers in their loads, because I had read a while back that Winchester was one of the suppliers to the military and it went on to say that we were getting the same thing in those particular loads. I have an old box of 1980s era 9mm M882 brown box and it was made by Winchester. Dummy me wasnt prepared for such a thing and threw my boxes in the trash at the range. Two blocks of 16 inch Clear Ballistics gel. Guns used are a Sig P229 with a 3.9-inch barrel and a Beretta Nano with a three-inch barrel. Hopefully, this will be helpful for individuals who, for whatever reason, choose to use or must use this type of ammo. Of course that is a potential safety issue. Well, I had the opportunity to try some Winchester 115gr JHP’s in Clear Ballistics gel. It seemed like out of no where the white box is the only round to ever jam my glock up on a regular basis. Differences in feeding are pretty gun specific. I remember it being fairly decent about 4 years ago but I personally feel like the quality control has dropped a bit. They should be pretty close to each other. The difference between the faulty rounds compared to the correct length rounds was noticeably different side by side. Out of 300 rounds, I had 3-4 rounds that failed to go into battery due to excessive case length. AFJuvat said: WWB is intended to be 'range' ammo (practice and plinking). The only issues Ive had with Winchester white box was in the 100 round bulk packs from Walmart that I bought in 2011-2012. I had 100rnds run like that at least according to the frequency that I picked up spent cases for inspection. I believe that the service grade ammo will be a bit hotter than the WWB range ammo. However, if you’re looking for a target round for competition or just want to be more accurate with your handgun ammo, then Winchester Super-X 124 grain JHP ammo would be your best choice. The particular ammo I was using was Winchester White Box 9mm NATO. For general target shooting, Winchester White Box 115 grain full metal jacket (FMJ) 9mm ammo is a great choice. The primers were volcanoing at the firing pin. So last week end I was at the range ,picked up a few cases and checked them when I got home.m To my surprise they were showing definite signs of over pressure. Occasionally while at the range I`ll pick up a couple cases of each that I fire just to see the health of things.
